The Arts
We believe deeply in the wide-ranging benefits of exposing children to all types of art. Regularly participating in the arts can have magical effects on a child's ability to concentrate, communicate, and develop creative solutions to problems. In a world that increasingly values the ability to innovate, instilling in children the ability to create and imagine different possibilities is essential. For these reasons, the arts are a central component of our curriculum.
All students in our elementary school participate in visual and performing arts classes, in which they learn the skills used in various types of visual arts, such as art history, music theory, singing, and instrumentation. There are also options for those students eager to delve even further into performing arts – students may join choir and drama class starting in 1st Grade and may join band starting in 2nd Grade.
