Preschool Enrichment Program | Phoenix Ranch School

Our Preschool Enrichment Programs give your little one extra opportunities to explore art, music, movement, and hands-on activities that make learning feel exciting and joyful. These experiences help children build creativity, confidence, and social skills in ways that beautifully support their development. Research from the National Endowment for the Arts shows that early exposure to enrichment activities strengthens cognitive growth and social-emotional skills. This is just one more reason families love this part of our program.

Enrichment Focus

We believe enrichment is essential to a child’s growth, which is why we offer activities that inspire curiosity, creativity, and self-expression. From the arts to athletics, each experience supports your child’s development in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.

About Our Preschool Enrichment Program

At Phoenix Ranch School, enrichment isn’t an “extra”; it’s at the heart of your child’s day, bringing joy, creativity, movement, and discovery into every moment. Preschoolers enjoy enrichment activities included in their tuition, such as Spanish, sports, music, art, and technology. These fun, engaging experiences make learning playful, meaningful, and naturally exciting. When children explore through hands-on projects, new ideas, and imaginative activities, they develop a love of learning that grows with them throughout their school journey.

Families can also register their preschoolers for additional enrichment classes like martial arts, soccer, gymnastics, dance, and yoga. These optional programs will give your child even more chances to follow their interests, build new skills, and uncover the unique talents that make them shine.

Our Preschool Enrichment Program Activities

Spanish

Spanish introduces a new language to young learners through songs, stories, and conversation, helping them learn new sounds and ideas in a fun way. Research shows that learning another language early plays a crucial role in memory, cognitive development, and curiosity about the world.

Sports

Sports teach children teamwork, coordination, and confidence through obstacle course games, movement activities, and playful challenges. These experiences help students learn healthy habits, resilience, and a positive attitude that supports them well into middle school.

Music

Music helps children learn rhythm, expression, and focus through singing, movement, and simple instruments, making it an engaging way to strengthen early brain development. Kids enjoy fun projects and creative activities that let them explore new interests with joy.

Art

Art gives children many creative ways to express themselves through drawing, painting, sculpting, and hands-on projects that build fine motor skills. With many options, open-ended tools, and free creativity, children learn problem-solving and confidence while having fun.

Technology

Technology activities teach children early digital skills, coding basics, and creative design in a guided, age-appropriate way. These fun projects encourage new ideas, logical thinking, and responsible tech habits that prepare them for middle school.

Martial Arts

Martial arts teach children discipline, focus, and body awareness through structured movement and gentle practice. Kids also learn confidence and self-control in a fun way as they master new skills.

Soccer

Soccer helps children learn teamwork, communication, and agility through games and simple drills that feel fun and active. Whether they're counting “how many shoes” they need for a game or running across the field, kids build coordination and confidence every day.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics introduces balance, flexibility, and strength through obstacle courses, tumbling, and playful routines that challenge kids in a positive way. These activities encourage confidence, perseverance, and joy in movement.

Dance

Dance teaches rhythm, expression, and coordination while giving children a fun way to explore movement, creativity, and the performing arts. With music, stories, and imaginative routines, kids build confidence and emotional expression.

Yoga

Yoga helps children learn calming breathing, mindfulness, and gentle stretching, supporting emotional regulation and focus at a young age. These peaceful routines encourage self-awareness, confidence, and a sense of calm that benefits them throughout school and life.

Why Families Love Our Enrichment Activities

Our enrichment programs are a family favorite because they bring added joy, exploration, and creativity to your child’s afternoons at Phoenix Ranch. Every activity reflects what we value most: nurturing the whole child, supporting social and emotional learning, and creating a space where your child feels confident, cared for, and excited to try new things. Whether your child is kicking a soccer ball, painting, dancing, stretching in yoga, or exploring early technology, they’re guided by adults who understand their needs, honor their pace, and celebrate their progress.

Families especially appreciate that our enrichment programs offer:

  • Opportunities that help your child build confidence, creativity, coordination, and social and emotional learning in a fun, age-appropriate way.
  • Caring instructors who prioritize your child’s well-being and offer gentle guidance through every activity.
  • Skills that matter, teamwork, problem-solving, fine and gross motor development, emotional learning, and healthy eating habits that support them throughout life.
  • Fun, meaningful moments where your child can create their own games, explore new ideas, and discover what they truly enjoy.

With enrichment, afternoons become a natural extension of your child’s Phoenix Ranch experience, filled with friendships, imagination, and joyful learning that helps them shine long after the regular school day ends.

Everyone from the principal to all of the teachers are incredibly kind and loving teachers. They teach children to think on their own, while mastering their studies. They teach them the importance of independence and completing tasks while challenging them to grow and apply themselves with dignity and respect. Our son has changed immensely since stepping foot on this campus and receiving guidance from his fifth grade teacher. He is eager to learn and be a part of the education process. prior to coming to Phoenix Ranch. He was more reserved and would hide in his classes. He is now more curious in various subjects and looking things up related to science, mathematics, history and art!

Honestly, the only thing that I can think of is not knowing who our director of preschool is. When we first started we would see the director everywhere, she knew all the kids names and I truly felt her passion. I see Mrs Aguilar all the time in her office, never our director. It could be me, and the times I go. I just feel the difference as a parent

More communication to the parents when teachers leave and there is a change. Additionally if there are subs. The first week of the year one teacher was not there and the parents did not receive communication on who was covering or for how long.

We truly love many aspects of this school, especially the staff and the overall atmosphere on campus. Our children feel welcomed and cared for, and there are many teachers and staff members who are clearly dedicated, warm, and invested in the students. That sense of care is something we value deeply as a family. That said, there are a few areas where we feel the school could grow and improve. One challenge has been the turnover in the preschool director role. The frequent changes have felt somewhat turbulent and, at times, have made it difficult to feel fully confident in the consistency of leadership and decision-making at that level. Another area of concern has been the timing of school events. Many events take place during the workday, which has been difficult for a large number of working families. Others require early pickup with the expectation that students return later, which can be challenging logistically. For example, we’ve often wondered why events like the Halloween parade couldn’t take place in the morning during the regular school day, making them more accessible for families. Communication around systems and procedures is another area where clarity would be helpful. We had ongoing questions about potty training expectations and supports, and it wasn’t until our children transitioned to a different classroom that we felt those expectations were clearly communicated and consistently supported. At that point, we had teachers who partnered closely with us and helped our children succeed. If potty training is a requirement for advancement into the three-year-old classroom, it would be helpful for that to be more clearly outlined and consistently supported across classrooms from the start. Lastly, we were initially very excited to join the PTA, hoping to be an active part of the parent community. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet those expectations. Parent involvement felt limited, organization and oversight seemed inconsistent, meetings often focused on small items over extended periods of time, and flyers frequently contained incorrect information. Ultimately, we chose to step back, with the hope that the PTA becomes more structured and cohesive in the future. Overall, this is a school with a lot of heart, strong educators, and real potential. With more consistent leadership, clearer communication, and increased consideration for working families, we believe it could be an even stronger experience for students and parents alike.

I love the community. The teachers, administration, they care about the kids. They take the time to get to know you and the kids. They listen to concerns and try their best to accommodate or explain why things are the why they are. The education is excellent and teachers take the time make sure the kids understand what is being taught.

We love Phoenix Ranch. Mr. Ledbetter who leads music, choir & band is exceptional. He really is the top reason we stay at Phoenix. Ms. Kahn who leads art is also top notch. I just really wish the school would invest in security. Other private schools in the area utilize a security company that is aligned with the sheriff’s team. I believe it is called Secured Six. In today’s climate, this is what families who pay private tuition want. We want added security. Not just cameras. We want a hard perimeter around the school. We want a human being who staffs the front door. A key pad code entry is not really secure. It’s just not enough.
