From Ages 3 to 5: Supporting Preschoolers at Each Stage
This is such an important stage in your child's development, and our Preschool Program in Simi Valley provides a warm, positive environment where children feel welcome, supported, and excited to learn. Research from the National Education Association shows that high-quality preschool helps kids build confidence, social skills, and kindergarten readiness. Our program creates this foundation through hands-on learning, play, friendship, and caring guidance from dedicated classroom guides who truly love what they do.
Early Reading & Language Development
In our preschool classrooms, your son or daughter will learn new vocabulary, storytelling, listening, and early reading skills through songs, conversations, and playful language experiences. These moments support sweet milestones like forming longer sentences, recognizing letters and sounds, and beginning to understand that the words they see and hear have meaning.
Early Writing Foundations
Your child will learn to strengthen hand muscles and early coordination through drawing, tracing, painting, and hands-on writing practice. These activities support exciting milestones such as holding a pencil with more control, creating shapes and early letter strokes, and feeling proud of what their hands can do.
Mathematics Readiness
In our program, children learn early math through counting, measuring, matching, shapes, patterns, and problem-solving in everyday play. These skills support milestones like counting objects, recognizing shapes, noticing patterns, comparing sizes, and feeling confident with number concepts that prepare them for kindergarten.
Science & Discovery
Your child will learn through exciting science activities like observing weather, planting, mixing, experimenting, and exploring the natural world with curiosity. Research shows that children who explore through hands-on science develop stronger thinking skills, confidence, and a lifelong interest in learning.
Social-Emotional Learning
Children learn to share, take turns, communicate feelings, and play kindly with other kids, supported by patient, dedicated guides. These lessons help your child feel safe, connected, and ready to thrive in group settings at school and beyond.
Dramatic Play & Imagination
In our preschool environment, your little one will learn through pretend play, role-playing, storytelling, and imagination-centered activities. These experiences help children express emotions, practice communication, and build friendships in positive, wonderful ways.
Art, Music & Creative Expression
Your child will learn to express themselves through singing, rhythm, painting, clay, and creative projects that build joy and self-confidence. This kind of play supports brain development and creates happy memories that parents love hearing about at the end of the day.
Physical Development & Coordination
Children learn coordination, balance, and strength through outdoor play, movement, dancing, sports, and playground adventures. These activities help kids feel confident in their bodies and support healthy development from the very beginning.
Independence & Self-Help Skills
Your child will learn to wash their hands, care for their belongings, tidy up, follow routines, and take on classroom responsibilities that build confidence and pride. These milestones help make the transition to kindergarten smoother and less overwhelming.
Kindergarten Readiness
As they approach age five, children learn to follow directions, participate in group activities, focus for longer periods, and engage in early academics with enthusiasm. Our program prepares your child for school while still letting them enjoy being little.

Everyone from the principal to all of the teachers are incredibly kind and loving teachers. They teach children to think on their own, while mastering their studies. They teach them the importance of independence and completing tasks while challenging them to grow and apply themselves with dignity and respect. Our son has changed immensely since stepping foot on this campus and receiving guidance from his fifth grade teacher. He is eager to learn and be a part of the education process. prior to coming to Phoenix Ranch. He was more reserved and would hide in his classes. He is now more curious in various subjects and looking things up related to science, mathematics, history and art!

Honestly, the only thing that I can think of is not knowing who our director of preschool is. When we first started we would see the director everywhere, she knew all the kids names and I truly felt her passion. I see Mrs Aguilar all the time in her office, never our director. It could be me, and the times I go. I just feel the difference as a parent

More communication to the parents when teachers leave and there is a change. Additionally if there are subs. The first week of the year one teacher was not there and the parents did not receive communication on who was covering or for how long.

We truly love many aspects of this school, especially the staff and the overall atmosphere on campus. Our children feel welcomed and cared for, and there are many teachers and staff members who are clearly dedicated, warm, and invested in the students. That sense of care is something we value deeply as a family. That said, there are a few areas where we feel the school could grow and improve. One challenge has been the turnover in the preschool director role. The frequent changes have felt somewhat turbulent and, at times, have made it difficult to feel fully confident in the consistency of leadership and decision-making at that level. Another area of concern has been the timing of school events. Many events take place during the workday, which has been difficult for a large number of working families. Others require early pickup with the expectation that students return later, which can be challenging logistically. For example, we’ve often wondered why events like the Halloween parade couldn’t take place in the morning during the regular school day, making them more accessible for families. Communication around systems and procedures is another area where clarity would be helpful. We had ongoing questions about potty training expectations and supports, and it wasn’t until our children transitioned to a different classroom that we felt those expectations were clearly communicated and consistently supported. At that point, we had teachers who partnered closely with us and helped our children succeed. If potty training is a requirement for advancement into the three-year-old classroom, it would be helpful for that to be more clearly outlined and consistently supported across classrooms from the start. Lastly, we were initially very excited to join the PTA, hoping to be an active part of the parent community. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet those expectations. Parent involvement felt limited, organization and oversight seemed inconsistent, meetings often focused on small items over extended periods of time, and flyers frequently contained incorrect information. Ultimately, we chose to step back, with the hope that the PTA becomes more structured and cohesive in the future. Overall, this is a school with a lot of heart, strong educators, and real potential. With more consistent leadership, clearer communication, and increased consideration for working families, we believe it could be an even stronger experience for students and parents alike.

I love the community. The teachers, administration, they care about the kids. They take the time to get to know you and the kids. They listen to concerns and try their best to accommodate or explain why things are the why they are. The education is excellent and teachers take the time make sure the kids understand what is being taught.
